Actual edge-star budget matrices

Abstract

The low and high budgets equal weighted transition totals on the actual edge class.

Quantify over an arbitrary finite tetrahedron type T, raw involutive face pairing p, color on p.GlobalEdge, valid coloring and e:p.GlobalEdge. In prefix notation, edgeStars(toFacePairedTriangulation(p,color, valid)) is the constructed s, not a free edge star. SameCycle(next(s),i,j) is the cycle relation of that permutation. False denotes face count one, true face count two. beta(4)=arccos(17/33), beta(3)=arccos(49 sqrt(6)/198), beta(2)=arccos(70/99). theta(0)=arccos(31/33), theta(1)=arccos(25/sqrt(726)), theta(2)=arccos(81/88), theta(3)=arccos(61/sqrt(4752)), theta(4)=arccos(23/27). The row/column order false, true gives lowMatrix=[[beta(4),beta(3)],[beta(3),beta(2)]] and highMatrix=[[theta(2),theta(1)],[theta(1),theta(0)]]. Each matrix total is the sum over a,b:Bool of transitionCount(s,e,a,b) times its matrix entry; each budget sums the corresponding high-neighbour weight over occurrences in Fiber(s,e).

Commentary.

Each paired slot lies in the same successor cycle, including the case where its face is incoming, using the inverse face map. Conversely successor steps preserve the quotient label. Grouping actual occurrences by their two signatures gives both matrix identities and their exact two-pi equivalences. These are angle-budget identities, not a proof of a common geometric realization.

For original CFMP §27.2, derive the input from the same actual fixed-point-free face involution and four-vertex face permutations taking each omitted vertex to the target omitted vertex and composing to the identity across paired faces, retaining one shared quotient coloring with one or two low edges on every local face. Their restrictions give the opposite-corner sigma of ActualCornerTransport.Pairing. Reindex its face slots by rho, the identity on face 0 and the swap of slots 0 and 2 on the other faces, so faceMap is rho_target composed with sigma_source composed with rho_source. This preserves the actual paired-edge relation on T×Fin6, giving a global-edge equivalence F with F(P(i))=edgeLabel(i). The fiber equivalence is the identity on the occurrence i and the color is pulled through F inverse. The budget theorem is applied at F(e) to the star constructed from this derived pairing; no matrix is attached to an independently chosen word or reset coloring.

For each occurrence, let a and b be its actual adjacent face low counts and k its number of high neighbors. The incidence identity is k+a+b=6 on a low edge and k+a+b=4 on a high edge. Therefore the pairs (1,1), (1,2), (2,1), (2,2) give low weights beta(4), beta(3), beta(3), beta(2) and high weights theta(2), theta(1), theta(1), theta(0). False and true code counts one and two. Grouping the same occurrence fiber by those four transitions gives exactly WL=[[beta(4),beta(3)],[beta(3),beta(2)]] and WH=[[theta(2),theta(1)],[theta(1),theta(0)]], retaining each repeated appearance. For this source data and valid coloring, the existing budget equalities transport the strict two-pi budget tests to these matrix totals.

The correspondence from a generic ideal triangulation of the same original N to these actual vertex-map fields, and from the constructed successor to N’s normal-circle traversal, remains to be verified. If P is external rather than the existing generated quotient projection, its surjectivity and exact generated-relation fibers must also be supplied. The matrix total is a beta/theta budget, not an equality with the actual dihedral-angle sum. Its use as a lower bound still requires the §25 analytic upper-face estimates with the same global length vector, source cosine relabeling and geometric angle identification. This explanation does not assert full original §27 coverage or same-N geometric realization.
