Area-operator limitations of stabilizer codes
Verified source
arXiv:2306.14996v2, revised 3 September 2024. The primary abstract states the all-local-dimension stabilizer restriction and discusses non-stabilizer examples. The arXiv record’s version date is used here; no unverified journal locator is added.
Use and boundary
Explains why increasing stabilizer depth or performing local-unitary coordinate changes alone cannot supply a non-scalar area response. It does not rule out the non-stabilizer center grouping used in the arithmetic RT research. A changing boundary spectrum can come entirely from logical entropy and need not imply a changing area operator.
